I didn't think it could get any better than book 1, Holding On, but I am blown away!! This picks up right where book 1 ended so be sure to read it first. I thought I was shocked at that ending and so broken hearted but I was really surprised with this one.Sadey is trying to pick up her life and move on without her first love and it just broke my heart. Mace and Shame are there for her and I fell even more in love with Shame in this one. When a part of her past comes back and tempts her, I love how she was teetering on the edge and not knowing what to do. She is strong, but yet weak.
As things happen, which I won't say, the suspense and action in this book was off the charts. I love seeing the sarcasm of Shame and the MC guys. Totally hot and I couldn't put it down until I finished!!
I want and need more of this MC series!!

Poor Sadie! She's close to losing it after Hem is killed. Thank God for Shame and Mace keeping her together, helping with the baby and especially Shame for being her rock. Then the crap hits the fan and crazy is happening again. You don't want to miss this series!
I can not tell you enough how much I loved this book! I'm so at peace that it has left me speechless. Great freaking ending. I bought these books and they just sat there staring at me because I was to afraid to read them. Heart break Is a terrible thing and I was afraid after reading that other book Taking Chances I couldn't deal. What that author did was not bring closer to her readers. It made me not recommended her books or read others by her because you have this trust almost with the writer and I don't trust her. A.C Bextor has my trust that she can lead. Thank you for that. I wish I had that and peace when I was done reading said mention book lol as I did with this series. It's such a good feeling when you can be taken by surprise or shocked the shit out of me but my God it hurt so good. Well done.....seriously well done. I will read anything you put out for sure.
***Spoiler*** I had hoped that Sadey would have ended up with Ace, I thought he was going to come back and love her the way he always had. But that isn't what happened!!!! I can not believe that Hem was alive that whole time, living in Cali with Ace of all people. I was gutted when I read the first book and Hem was killed; only to gasp in disbelief that he was alive in the second book. My heart continued to break for Sadey, as she went through all the depression that accompanies grief. Then to have Hem show up, totally threw me for a ride. There was a HEA in this one, but I still want more. I loved both Hem and Shame from the beginning but I fell even more in love with Shame. I love his alpha male persona. AC Bextor started making me a fan with Holding On, but she kept me with The Way Home. I definitely need more Peril stories!!!!
This was an awesome sequel to "Holding On" which was the first book in the "Lights of Peril" series written by very talented author A.C. Bextor. "Holding On" left us with a heavy heart and tears in our eyes. However, "The Way Home" gave us closure and a definite HEA. This HEA did not come without a rough road for our Peril MC group to travel in order to get there. Have to say that I was so happy to see Ace return. He always held a soft spot in my heart and quite frankly was the fellow I had hoped would win Sadie's heart. Once in a great while there is a love so strong that it will stand the strength of time, tragedy and even death. If you are strong enough to survive a love that great, then no one will ever be able to break that bond. This book is a really good book that you must read to conclude the Lights of Peril series. Wowza!! - what a roller coaster ride!! I did read there will be another book entitled "Toxic" coming out as well. It should be exciting to find out which characters and story line will be the focus of that book. You can bet I will be one of the first in line to read it!! 5 star rating for "The Way Home" - hands down!! A must read!!
Oh, I do not even know where to start... I read the Lights of Peril book 1 in "Open Road A Biker's Anthology "-- and WOW!!!
Book 2 IS NOT A STAND ALONE-- you have to read book 1 but this book does end the story so do not fear that it continues.. I do not like a book not to end on some level but when book 1 left me hanging, I uncharacteristically grabbed book 2 with NO hesitation. and STAND BY... you will NOT expect what happens... I seriously wanted to throw the book across the room several times while reading this. I wanted to burn it and walk away... but I could not... I was there, in the story and couldn't walk away... I hurt for them, I cried for them and I fought for them... This one ripped my heart out and I still have trouble wrapping my head around it some days... and I LOVED IT !!!!
What do you do when your world is ripped apart and everyday you feel like you are losing your mind? Sadey Collins knows all about that. With Hem gone, Sadey is trying to come to grips that she is a single mother to a child that is an exact replica of his daddy. The people who love her Shame, Mace, April and Cherry are all worried and trying to help her move on. After finally coming to terms with the fact that Hem is gone, Sadey finally says goodbye.
With that goodbye, finally a light in her darkness shows up. Ace! Her friend who she missed and trusts has finally come back. Sadey also finds out Ace's true feelings for her. Although she loves him as a friend, she can not give her heart to anyone but Hem. What Sadey doesn't know is that Ace is also keeping something from her.
Secrets always come out. Ace is married and Hem is alive. Not only is he alive, but it was Ace who was hiding him out.
With Hem back, the threat is still out there. Everyone is on guard and Sadey is overwhelmed by his return. She is having a hard time trusting him again. Only after really understand what Hem had to do, does Sadey want her life with Hem back. She wants her enough with Hem. After finally being able to feel safe, life continues for all. More babies and more marriages. The Lights of Peril family is brought back together and is growing by the day!
